The exercise:

Write two haiku about something: delicate.

Very cold start to the day, but it got quite reasonable once the sun was up. The lack of wind definitely helped.

Six days left!

Mine:

She's like a flower
clinging to her petals while
the summer winds scream

The box was labelled
Fragile. I wish you'd just told
me it was your heart

Those are nice days -- the contrast between the chill and the warmth later on my favourites. Though I like it if it cools back down to a chill in the evening as well.
A brief note on your comment from yesterday: the Silver Carillon has been sat on my "this needs a story writing about it" for about ten years now, and I still don't feel like I've managed to find a plot that really delivers on its potential, but I'm very glad you think it has potential too.
I have a hard time choosing between your two haiku this week, but I'm giving the Palm D'or to the second one (just) because there's an entire story hiding in those three lines (just like Morganna's haiku yesterday).

Delicate
Brains are delicate,
Robust as ancient china.
Only... mine leaks now,

Keeping no secrets
Even though to live I need
Not to speak my mind.

By popular request ... (thank you Marc for providing a prompt I could use)

Once she climbed mountains
Now she sits and rests all day
Woe betide you if

You ask of mountains
Or strange seas -- her memories
Are for her alone.

Greg - ten years? Goodness me... I hope you'll be inspired to explore it more sooner than later!

A leaking brain does not sound ideal. At all.

Morganna - you're welcome!

I really like your middle line in the second haiku (rhyming seas and memories works so nicely) and I very much appreciate you giving us more of the story on this one :)
